James van Praagh is well known for his inborn ability to converse with the dead souls from the other world. His easy-going and natural style of communicating with the spirits would make anyone feel as if he is speaking with a buddy on the phone. James acts as a living evidence medium, which means that he has the ability to join the breach between two worlds of existence, which is the dead and the living. He has provided substantial evidences that prove that there is life after death through detailed messages. According to him, he is a clairsentient, which means that he is capable of sensing the personalities and emotions of the departed souls. As stated by him he is also a clairvoyant, which means that he is also able to see the spirits.

James van Praagh is no doubt a specialist in the paranormal field, because he has been connected with those thoughts for the most part of his grown-up days. James van Praagh spent his childhood days in Bayside, a city in New York. He was the youngest in the family with three elder brothers. From his early days James had a huge interest in life after death. He had a strict Catholic upbringing and in his early years he worked as an altar boy. He entered the school of clergy when he was fourteen years of age. It was during this time when his attraction towards Catholicism died away and his interest in spirituality started. He did not receive any kind of training or schooling on spirituality. His ability to converse with the dead souls is an inborn gift. When he was 8 years of age, he had his first encounter with spirit. One day as he was praying to God Almighty, asking him to appear before him, he witnessed a hand wide spread out appear in front of through his room’s ceiling, emitting dazzling rays of light. From that time onwards he started to grow interest in spirituality.
